Splashie’s story began in 2009, when I became an aunty for the first time at just 15 years old.

As an aunty, babysitting duty came with the territory, and that meant bath time! What I hadn’t anticipated was just how wet I would get in the process. Let’s just say, getting soaked every time I bathed my niece wasn’t exactly my idea of fun.

So, naturally, I came up with a solution: an apron-style towel with wings that would wrap around baby, keeping them snug and making bath time a little easier for everyone.

I excitedly shared my idea with my sister, only to have it quickly dismissed with the words, “I’m just used to a normal towel.” (Spoiler alert: she’s now one of its biggest fans!)

So, the idea was tucked away in the back of my mind until five years later, when our neighbours were expecting a baby. I shared my idea with them, and they loved it! Within two hours of a quick trip to the fabric shop, the very first Splashie prototype was born.

From there, I started making Splashies for friends and family who were expecting little ones. What began as a simple idea soon became a much-loved product, tested and loved by the people closest to me for more than five years.

Eventually, I knew it was time to take the next step. I set out to test different fabrics, perfect the design, and find the right manufacturer to bring my little idea to life. It was time to take a leap of faith and share Splashie with families everywhere!

And now, in the most special full-circle moment, I’m a mum myself and get to use Splashie with my own little one. Something I dreamed up as a teenager while looking after my nieces and nephews has become part of my own motherhood journey. It makes me so proud to know that an idea born from a simple desire to make bath time easier is now something I get to share with my own child, as well as families everywhere.

Splashie has always been about more than just a towel. It’s about those everyday moments with our little ones and finding simple ways to make them a little easier, cosier, and more enjoyable.
